Requirements for membership in the Lynchburg Life Saving Crew:
- All applicants must be enrolled in an Emergency Medical Technician Class (EMT) or hold a valid EMT license.
- All applicants are required to pass a full background check and drug test.
- Members will be trained in Emergency Vehicle Operations, Vehicle Extrication, and a variety of other certifications.
- Members are expected to enter as a probationary member, regardless of prior training. This is typically a 6-18 month stage that is contingent on your progress.
- We are a 100% volunteer organization that focuses on EMS and Specialized Rescue and Fire Support.
- We operate in cooperation and full integration with the Lynchburg Fire Department.
